Facebook just introduced a new "Live Feed" which has some very annoying default settings, like showing all your friends who you became friends with and which groups you have joined. Another "Live Feed" nuisance that was introduced was a default setting only showing 250 of your friends feeds by default.
Well you can get rid of everyone seeing who you become friends with by doing the following:
How to Stop the "New Friends Notifications"
Go to "Settings" in the upper right corner of your page
Go to "Privacy" (in the left column) and click "Manage" (on the right side)
Go to "News Feed and Wall"
Go to groups on left side and go down until you see the following:

Remove profile info
Post on a discussion board
Add a friend
Take the Check Mark off of "Add a friend" and it will no longer show everyone else who you just became friends with
